Augmentation MammaplastyBreast
Augmentation is a cosmetic surgical procedure used to enhance the size and
shape of breasts. Reasons to consider Breast Augmentation: - You
are self-conscious of breast size.
- Excessive weight loss or pregnancy
has changed the size and shape of your breasts.
- You have difficulty in
finding clothing that fits proportionately.
- You have significant asymmetry
in breasts.
If you are considering breast augmentation surgery, you
must be fully developed, physically and emotionally healthy, and have realistic
expectations of your surgery. What to expect from your cosmetic consultation:
During
your initial consultation, you will meet with the plastic surgeon and staff. Your
physical and emotional health will be reviewed and photographs may be taken for
your medical record. Your surgeon will examine your breasts. Depending on the
size and shape of your breasts, the elasticity of your skin, and where your nipples
are located, your surgeon will recommend what surgical technique you would benefit
most from. At this time, your surgeon will go over the risks associated with surgery
and your expectations. This is also a good opportunity for you to go over any
questions you may have.
Preparing for your surgery: - You must have pre-operative testing.
- Your
doctor may suggest a mammogram.
- You must avoid certain medications prior
to surgery.
