Popular Non-Invasive Treatments for Fall

Unrecognizable female person showing cellulite on her leg. Isolated on white.

Not that autumn in Miami is like autumn in, say, Vermont, but there’s still a little change in the air. Plus, we have just the same social calendar heading into the fall and early winter as everywhere else, no matter that we’re basking in 70-degree sunny days. That’s why the fall is a great time to come see us at Miami Plastic Surgery® to have one of our many non-invasive treatments.

Most Popular Non-Invasive Treatments

Spider vein removal

One of the really annoying aspects of aging is the appearance of these clusters of red, purple, and blue veins on our legs — spider veins. Spider veins develop as our veins and the support tissues around them weaken and allow blood to back up in areas. When this happens on a larger scale, a varicose vein develops. Smaller occurrences are the strictly cosmetic problem of spider veins. At Miami Plastic Surgery® we use sclerotherapy to get rid of your spider veins. We inject a sclerosant agent (usually a saline solution) into the vein, and this causes it to close off and the body then breaks it down and removes it. These are effective, easy treatments to get rid of your spider veins before next year’s spring and summer beach season.

Kybella

Considering how prevalent double chins are — just about everyone has at least some sagging under their jaw — it has been surprising the only way to remove them was through a surgical neck lift or lower facelift. That changed a few years ago when the FDA approved Kybella® for the treatment of double chins. Kybella® is made from deoxycholic acid. Deoxycholic acid occurs naturally in the human body, and its job is to aid in the breakdown of dietary fat. When injected into the fatty areas weighing down the skin under your jaw, the deoxycholic acid attacks and breaks down the fat. This dramatically slims your profile and decreases your double chin. You can have up to six injection sessions with Kybella®, depending on your goals, so the fall is a great time to get started.

CoolSculpting

CoolSculpting is the world’s most popular, and well known, non-invasive body contouring treatment. This innovative procedure uses controlled cooling delivered through panels and handpieces (on smaller areas) to deliver cold down into the targeted tissue. The temperature is set to the freezing point of fat cells, which freeze at a higher point than other skin and tissue cells. The cold freezes up to 25 percent of the fat in the treatment areas. These fat cells die, and the body removes them through the lymphatic system over the course of a few weeks. The result is a slimmed, tightened contour on the treated area. CoolSculpting has been approved by the FDA for eight areas: abdomen, flanks, buttocks, thighs, upper arms, chin, back, and bra line.

Injectables

As we head into the fall and winter social season, this is a good time to come see us to remove wrinkles, lines, and areas of volume loss across the face. Our neuromodulators (Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin) work on the upper third of the face on crow’s feet, the 11s, and forehead lines. Our dermal fillers (the entire Juvéderm and Restylane lines, Radiesse, and Sculptra) work across the mid to lower face and mouth on smile lines, marionette lines, barcode lines, parentheses lines, lip volume, sunken cheeks, and tear troughs.
